Got a message from my favourite Christmas and birthday present toy store. They are celebrating green days. 15% off on all toys up until Earth Hour.
I am confused. How can shopping more mean that you are greener? Isn't Earth Hour all about becoming aware of our consumption and bad habits of spending on things we really do not need. At least in our house we really do not need any more toys. Sending out these kind of temptations is just cruel, both to my wallet and mother nature.
Luckily there are no birthdays at sight (except for my own, in less than a week!) so I can completely ignore this marketing trick. Did not even enter the store's Internet site. Good mama, that's the way!
